The Ministry of Education Office for Information and Evaluation of Education Quality (DiNIECE) is responsible for this assessment. Every province receives a national report and recommendations for teaching strategies.<sup>15<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>The City Ministry of Education Unit for the Evaluation of Education Quality and Equity (UEICEE) measures student learning outcomes in mathematics and literacy in the last year of primary school (Grade 7) and the last year of secondary school (Year 5 or 6) in a census-based assessment administered on a yearly basis. Results are reported up to the school district level and are accompanied by pedagogical recommendations. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, teachers design their own evaluations to assess student learning processes. Typical assessments developed and used by teachers at both the primary and secondary levels include written tests and open-ended, hands-on activities.
