For science in Grades 1 and 2, students receive three science lessons per week, and each lesson is 40 to 50 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In Grades 4 and 5, students receive four lessons per week, and each lesson is 40 to 50 minutes. In Grades 7 and 8, students receive five lessons a week, and each lesson is 40 to 50 minutes.<\/p>\n<h3>Instructional Materials, Equipment, and Laboratories<\/h3>\n<p>Teachers in independent schools use a set of learning objectives based on the strands and objectives that form the core of Qatar National Standards, and use standardized textbooks distributed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p>At Grade 3 students are taught by mathematics and science subject specialist teachers.
